OPERATION DREAMLIFT SENDS HUNTERDON CHILD FROM HIGH BRIDGE TO DISNEY WORLD

Hunterdon County Sheriff Fred Brown’s Office participated in this year’s Operation Dreamlift sending High Bridge youngster, Jaicob Gonzalez to Disney World for a fun filled day.

When a Miami Air jet took off from Mercer County Airport in the early morning Tuesday, Sheriff’s Corporal Sandy Ford, Officer Anthony Robbins and Chief Ed Davis were there to wave good bye to an anxious but thrilled 5 year old and his mother, Likeisha.

Operation Dreamlift takes children who are chronically ill and gives them a much needed respite from their troubles by flying them to Florida for a day of fun in the Magic Kingdom.  The send-off includes costumed characters, police, firefighters, EMT’s, marching bands, politicians, volunteers and other well wishers.

When the Dreamlift flight left from the National Guard Facility in Mercer, it included 118 children, chaperones, a nurse and a doctor, all made possible through donations of individual residents and businesses.

Chief Ed Davis, who coordinated the trip on behalf of Sheriff Brown, extended his thanks to all who made the exciting day possible.
