PENNSY MAN TRIES TO RUN FROM LAMBERTVILLE POLICE

Sherwood C. Elliot, 43, of Levittown, PA was arrested on May 8, 2016 at 3:04PM for Obstructing the Administration of Law.

While on routine patrol, Sgt. Memolo observed Elliot’s vehicle driving at a high rate of speed in the area of State Highway 29 and Weeden Street. Sgt. Memolo followed Elliot’s vehicle as it continued south on State Highway 29 at a high rate of speed, eventually turning quickly into the parking lot of Jessy Lee’s Antiques. When Sgt. Memolo entered the parking lot, Elliot’s vehicle was out of sight. Sgt. Memolo located Elliot’s vehicle hiding behind the building and conducted a motor vehicle stop. Elliot immediately exited his vehicle and advised that he was checking his tires. Subsequent to investigation, Elliot stated that his actions were a result of attempting to avoid a traffic ticket. Elliot was placed under arrest and brought back to headquarters for processing. Sgt. Memolo charged Elliot with Obstructing the Administration of Law, Interference with a Police Officer, Speeding, and Failure to Yield Right of Way for Emergency Vehicles. Elliot was later released with a pending court date.
