On Thursday, May 12, at approximately 12:10 pm, officers responded to a township residence for a report of a domestic violence incident. Upon arrival, officers met with a twenty-one (21) year-old male who advised that he and his fifty-five (55) year-old father engaged in a verbal dispute earlier in the morning. The son advised that he slept in a neighbor’s barn to avoid further problems. However, when he returned home later in the morning, his father punched him in the face and destroyed property in his room. As the son called police, the father ran out of the back of the house and into the adjacent woods. After a preliminary search was unsuccessful, officers had a K-9 tracking dog from Warren Township respond. With the assistance of the K-9, officers located the father hiding on the property. He was arrested and charged with Simple Assault, Criminal Mischief, and Obstruction of Justice. He was then transported to the Hunterdon County Jail in default of $2,500 bail
