Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Operating a Motor Vehicle While In Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Driving While Suspended, Driving a Suspended Vehicle, and Improper Turning

On Friday, July 10, at approximately 11:45 pm, Patrolman Sean Ross stopped a 2002 Mercury sedan operated by Christopher Thomas, age 36, of New York, NY on Route 626 for erratic driving and for having a suspended registration. During the stop, Ptl. Ross detected the odor of marijuana inside of the vehicle and a search produced a container of it. In addition, Ptl. Ross learned that Mr. Thomas’ driver’s license was suspended and that he had a $600 motor vehicle warrant for his arrest out of Manahawkin, a $120 motor vehicle warrant for his arrest out of Fort Lee, and a $100 motor vehicle warrant for his arrest out of Bernardsville. As a result, Ptl. Ross arrested Mr. Thomas and charged him with Possession of Under 50 Grams of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Operating a Motor Vehicle While In Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Driving While Suspended, Driving a Suspended Vehicle, and Improper Turning. He was later released after each of the municipalities holding the warrants assigned Mr. Thomas a new court date.
