Possession of Drugs With Intent to Distribute

On Sunday, May 22, at approximately 1:45 pm, an officer stopped a 2004 Ford sedan operated by Zachary Woods, age 27, of Pittstown, on Cokesbury Road for a motor vehicle violation. During the stop, the officer observed a clear bottle containing a white powder, later determined to be Codeine, in plain view. Mr. Woods did not have a prescription for the Codeine. In addition, the officer determined that Mr. Woods was under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance. Mr. Woods was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with Intent to Distribute, Being Under the Influence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Operating a Motor Vehicle While In Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Maintenance of Lamps, Improper Safety Glass, and Failure to Produce Documents. He was later transported to the Hunterdon County Jail in default of $15,000 bail.
