Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute 360 bags

On Thursday, May 7, at approximately 1:20 pm, Patrolman John Tiger stopped a 2015 Hyundai Elantra operated by Jordan Hammerstone, age 32, of Glen Gardner, on Route 31 North near Route 173 for tailgating and failing to maintain lane. During the stop, Ptl. Tiger determined that Mr. Hammerstone was under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance and therefore arrested him. A subsequent investigation revealed three hundred and sixty (360) bags of heroin inside of the vehicle. As a result, Mr. Hammerstone was charged with Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Heroin, Being Under the Influence of Heroin, Operating a Motor Vehicle While In Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Careless Driving. He was lodged in the Hunterdon County Jail in default of $30,000 bail. Passenger Lisa Visco, age 45, of Hackettstown, was charged with Being Under The Influence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and released ROR. The Warren County Prosecutor’s Office and the Readington Township Police Department assisted.
