WANT TO BE A STAR?
Come join the fun and compete with the Voorhees Stars Girls Softball program for Fall League games!
The Stars were formed in 1996 and inspired by former Voorhees High School alumna and two-time Olympic gold medal champion player for the United States softball team, Michele Smith. The Stars are a competitive ”B” level girls softball program that competes in the Mid-States Girls Softball League, with teams in Hunterdon, Somerset and Warren Counties. League games are played in the summer and fall. The program rosters players from the North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School sending districts and neighboring towns, including Califon, Glen Gardner, Hampton, High Bridge, Lebanon Township, Readington and Tewksbury. The program is also open to players from the three counties. Fall games are played at Readington’s Hillcrest and Summer Road softball facilities from early September through the end of October. Games are held on Saturday mornings only and typically finish by 1:00 p.m. Practices are once per week. The registration fee will be approximately $120, and covers league fees, umpires, field maintenance, insurance, and costs for the Stars’ Annual Banquet in November.
Fall 2017 teams are forming now for 8U and 10U divisions. Try-outs will be held at both levels on Saturday, June 17, from 10:00-11:30 a.m., Califon Island Park Softball Field. Coffee and donuts will be provided for the parents. Any player intending to try-out on June 17 must contact program director, Mario Colitti, at email@example.com, or 732-672-0635.
