Police are currently investigation two separate incidents which occurred in the walking trails at Morales Park off of Capner Street. In both incidents, lone females were walking in the trails when they were approached by a Hispanic male. The male made generic small talk to start a conversation with the women. In one incident, the male asked the woman for help finding a cell phone signal.


In the other, the male initiated conversation with the woman about her dog that she was walking. In both incidents, the male grabbed and squeezed the woman’s buttocks before ultimately leaving the area on foot. One incident occurred in the mid-afternoon while the other occurred in the evening. In both incidents, the male actor was described as follows:

– Hispanic male in his twenties

– Approximately 5’02” to 5’07” tall

– Medium build

– Black hair

– Spoke English, but had an accent

The Raritan Township Police Department recommends that all female walkers in the trails use caution and be aware of their surroundings. Walk in pairs if possible and have a cell phone on you, although service in the trails is spotty.
