Readington Seeks Citizen Volunteers to identify trees in danger of being killed by a new invasive disease and a new pest.
November 9, 2016
The emerald ash borer and Bacterial Leaf Scorch have reached our area and are predicted to eventually completely wipe out all ash trees, pin oaks and red oaks, a major portion of our native tree cover. The volunteers will assist in identifying the trees along the township’s streets that belong to the targeted species so that a plan can be developed to attempt to treat and save as many of the larger and significant trees as possible before they are affected. Training and support will be provided. See announcement HERE.
