Readington Township, NJ- Stella (Sliwak) Panewnyk, 84, entered into eternal life on Friday, July 7, 2017 at home with loving family by her side. Born in Lwow, Poland, daughter of the late Andrzej and Ludwika (Ossowska) Sliwak, she emigrated from Poland to the United States of America in 1965. She lived in East Orange, NJ until 1996 and then moved in with her daughter in Readington Township.
Stella was an accountant in Poland and after immigrating to the US, she became manager and superintendent of a 44 unit apartment complex in East Orange, NJ for many years before retirement. She had a passion for gardening, particularly growing tomato plants. Stella loved tanning, especially at the beach. Making chicken soup for her beloved grandson brought both of them much joy.
Stella is survived by her loving daughter, Ann Fisher of Readington Township; dear siblings, Jozefa Butrym of Bayonne, NJ, Edward Sliwak, and a sister in Poland. She will be deeply missed by her cherished grandson, Zachary Fisher; and adored niece, Margaret Golatowski and her son, Aleksander Golatowski; and adored nephew, John Butrym.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Friday, July 14 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday, July 15 from 10:30-11:00 a.m.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 15 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 12:30 p.m. funeral liturgy at Our Lady of Czestochowa’s Chapel in Doylestown, PA. Committal words and interment will follow at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery in Doylestown.
In lieu of flowers, mass offerings or memorial contributions may be made in Stella’s name to a cancer research program of your choice.
