The Red Mill Museum Village will be hosting its annual Revolutionary War Weekend this Weekend, Saturday August 1st and Sunday, August 2nd, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Each year, the grounds of the Museum are converted to a Revolutionary War era encampment. Come talk with costumed reenactors about what life was like during the War for Independence, see military demonstrations, and interact first hand with history. In addition to costumed reenactors, you see colonial era demonstrations-such as blacksmithing and weaving.
Adding to the weekend, tickets are still available for Ghost and Folklore tours of the Red Mill Museum Village, which will be held at 8 and 9:15 p.m. Tickets are $12 for museum members and $15 for non-members. While on the tour, visitors will be able to learn about the ghostly heritage of the Museum and be given a chance to have an exclusive look at funeral objects from the Museum’s collection. Tickets are available online at www.theredmill.org under the Store and Tickets tab or by calling 908-735-4101 extension 100.
Additionally, tour of the Museum and its grounds will be given at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 2nd. Both Revolutionary War Weekend and the guided tour on Sunday are included with regular museum admission, which is free for members and children under 6, $6 for children 6 to 12, $8 for seniors, active duty military, and veterans, and $10 for adults. For more information, please call Tim Betz, Curator of Public Programs, at 908-735-4101 extension 102.
