Residents near Readington Road, Branchburg Township and Readington Township construction

HC News G&K Banner

As you are aware the construction schedule for Readington Road work was delayed due to the State shutdown of Transportation Trust Fund funded projects in July of 2016. Work is currently underway along Readington Road with the major work scheduled to begin this month, March 2017. The Contractor, Konkus Construction, is scheduled to close Readington Road from Dreahook Road to Harlan School Road on March 13, 2017. The road will be closed for 3-1/2 months and traffic detoured. To aid residents in understanding how to access local streets and residences we have prepared 2 maps, one for each stage of work during the road closure (attached).

During the Road closure period of the project the road will be closed to regional/through traffic by barricades at two locations: at the south end near Dreahook Road and at the north end near Champions Circle. Within the barricaded area there will be three internal closure locations of major construction work which are:  replacement of the bridge near the intersection of Baird Road,  lowering/excavation of the hill north of the Dreahook Road traffic signal,  lowering/excavation of the hill between Judge Thompson Road and Champions Circle. No traffic (local or through) will be allowed to pass these internal road closure locations while major work is occurring. Stage 1 – during this stage of work the bridge near the intersection of Baird Road will be replaced and the south work area near Dreahook Road will be excavated. Due to the bridge replacement Baird Road at Readington Road will be closed during this period. Please refer to map entitled “Resident Access Plan 1” for the access points to reach your residence. Stage 2 – Once the bridge work near Baird Road intersection is completed, the road closure at the west end of Baird Road will be removed and access to Readington Road via Baird Road for local residents will be permitted.
