Robert Ernst Esch, age 83, died Sunday, April 19, 2015 at his home in Ottsville, PA.
Born February 21, 1932, in Detroit, MI, Bob was the son of the late Rudolf and Mae (Martinek) Esch. He was raised in Birmingham, MI, received a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from MIT and later his MBA from Harvard Business School.
Bob served his country in the United States Army, before finishing his education. A “captain of industry,” Bob worked for many years for Bendix Corp, which became AlliedSignal and then Honeywell) as a Plant Supervisor, eventually becoming part of the executive team at Honeywell. He was a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), an NRA Firearms Instructor, the former President of the NJ Rifle and Pistol Club, and an active member of the Harvard Business School Club of New York City.
In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his first wife, Ann Esch, and is survived by his wife, Judith Iorio Esch, his daughter, Linda Esch, his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Esch and Valerie Levanos, his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Michael Novick, his daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Kenneth Snyder, his son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Emily Esch, his step son, daughter-in-law and their daughter, James, Jacqueline and Kennedy Iorio, his step-son, John Iorio, and his step-son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Jamie Iorio. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Julia, Sam, Miriam, Luciana, Rory, and Charles.
Calling hours will be Friday, May 8th from 5 to 8 p.m. at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. Interment in Newell Cemetery in Stanton NJ will be private.
