Robert W. Thomas
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Robert W. Thomas, 87, of Lawrenceville, NJ, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2016 at his residence.
Born March 22, 1929 in Cleveland, OH, Robert lived in Berkeley Heights, NJ for over 30 years. He then lived in Princeton, NJ before moving to Lawrenceville, NJ in 2005. Robert graduated from Ohio State with a B.S. in Engineering. He worked for Western Electric and AT&T for 35 years before retiring in 1988. Robert enjoyed sailing, playing tennis, and was an avid golfer. Robert was a chairman of the Berkeley Heights Recreation Committee. His passion was singing and he was a member of the Hunterdon Harmonizers and the Princeton Garden Statesman.
Son of the late Arthur John and Katherine (Koch) Thomas, Robert is survived by his two sons Robert W. Thomas, Jr. of Toms River, NJ, and John A. Thomas of Mansfield Township, NJ, his two daughters Cynthia M. Buckley of Alexandria Township, NJ, and Sandra T. Foster of East Greenville, PA, his eight grandchildren, Jessica, Jacquelin, Jake, Hailey, Morgan, Zachary, Nathan, and Abigail. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Teresa (Yesko) Thomas in 2003, his two brothers Roland and Arthur, and his three sisters Ethel, Katherine, and Alice.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 11 AM at the St. Edward the Confessor R.C. Church, 61 Mill Street, Milford, NJ. Interment will follow at the Milford Union Cemetery. Visitation will also be held on Friday from 9:30-10:30 AM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ.
