Roger W. Storr, age 94 years, of Flemington, NJ, died Wednesday, September 14, 2016, in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
A lifelong resident of the Flemington area, Roger was born July 1,1922, son of the late John W. and Edith Miller Storr.
Roger was first employed by Foran Foundry, Flemington, then by Delaware Valley Farmers Cooperative; then was a bus driver for Hunterdon Central High School and Flemington-Raritan Elementary School System. He retired as a bus driver when he was eighty years age. He was also employed by Carver’s NAPA Auto Parts, A & B Garage and Sweet Valley Farm.
He also worked at the Flemington Fair and the Flemington Speedway for many years.
Roger was a member of Flemington Elks Lodge #1928 and was a US Navy veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife of thirty-nine years, Anna Heckman Storr; two step-daughters, Melody Stryker of Frenchtown NJ and Lisa Hack of Flemington NJ; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Harmony and Kristopher Stryker; three brothers, Burdette Storr of Flagler Beach FL, Robert Storr of Sergeantsville NJ, Richard Storr of Shallotte NC; and a sister, Mary Miller of Ringoes NJ.
Roger was pre-deceased by three brothers, Kenneth, Grenelle, and Paul Storr and a sister, Wenonah Stover.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 19, 2016, at 2:00 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Monday from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
