Ronald Gary Wood 72

Ronald Gary Wood FORKED RIVER Ronald Gary “Woody” Wood, 72, son of the late Norman and Gladys Ford-Wood, passed away on the evening of April 25, 2016, after a long battle with cancer. 


Ron was born on Dec. 26, 1943, in New Hope, PA. He grew up in Lambertville, NJ. At 24 he joined the Army, served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged as sergeant. He then went on to work with his father at Delaval Turbine as a union steelworker and in Mercer County maintenance, retiring to Forked River. Ron enjoyed fishing, traveling, and military or John Wayne movies. He loved spending time with his family. “Woody” was the nicest man you could ever meet. He would do anything to help someone. He will be tremendously missed, but never forgotten. The memories of time spent with him keep him in close to our hearts. 


Ron is survived by his family: stepson, Stephen J. Logan Jr.; daughters, Kristen Blair Wood, Susan Rosenberg; grandchildren, Elijah, Tyler, Stephen, Jordan, and Christian; brothers, Edmund and Wayne Wood; sisters, Norma Reimer and Bernadette Jones, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends who embraced his great presence among us. 


Funeral services with military honors will be held Tuesday May 3rd, at 10:30 am at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd., Newtown, PA. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 3 from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the Garefino Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St., Lambertville, NJ.
