Rooney Blasts FCC Proposal To Wipe Out Net Neutrality Rules

Assemblyman Kevin J. Rooney (R-Bergen) issued the following statement today in response to the FCC proposal for its Dec. 14 public meeting that overturns the 2015 open internet order, commonly known as net neutrality.

“Opening the door to partitioned access to the internet and faster content to customers for companies that pay for faster delivery will hurt consumers and stifle innovation. At a time when internet has become a basic need, maintaining equal access to all content, whether breaking news or the newest cat video, regardless of internet service provider is vital. I join the millions of concerned citizens that are opposed to the proposed actions and urge the FCC to maintain net neutrality.”
