Rudolph Lautner, age 86 years of Forks Township, PA, died Monday, May 23, 2016 at Easton Hospital in Easton PA. Before moving to Easton ten years ago, Rudy was a resident for more than 50 years of East Amwell Township, NJ.
Born August 30, 1929 in Trenton NJ, Rudy was the son of the late Frank X. and Julia (Nuemeier) Lautner. A graduate of Flemington High School with the Class of 1948, he married Katherine Schaadt in 1955. He was a dairy farmer initially, and later became a poultry farmer at which time he and Katherine had their own egg route until 1979. Rudy eventually went to work as an equipment technician for Kuhl Corp, where he retired in 1979 after 29 years.
Rudy loved fishing, gardening, making wine, and playing card games like rummy and Skip Bo. He enjoyed camping with his family in their travel trailer where he visited nearly all 50 of the United States.
In addition to his parents, Rudy was predeceased by his brother, Julius Lautner, and his nephew, Chuck Lautner. He is survived by his wife of more than 60 years, Katherine Schaadt Lautner, his three daughters, Cynthia Foder of Lambertville NJ, Patricia Struening and her companion, Fred Becker of Wilson Borough PA, and Janet Kania and her husband, Thomas Kania of Kingwood Township NJ, as well as his six grandchildren, Rob Struening, III, Cody Struening, Kaitlyn Foder, Robert Foder, III, Sarah Kania, and Morgan Kania and one great-grandchild, Bailey Ann Struening.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Flemington. Calling hours will be on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
