RVCC Chorale to Perform Annual Holiday Concert

The RVCC Chorale will perform its annual holiday concert on Friday, December 4, at 8 p.m. The performance will be held in the Welpe Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College’s Branchburg Campus. The Chorale is composed of current and former RVCC students, as well as members of the community. It is conducted by John Sichel, a full-time faculty member in the College’s Visual and Performing Arts Department. Tim Brown is the group’s accompanist. The program will feature “A Ceremony of Carols” by Benjamin Britten (1913-1976). The work features Medieval and early Renaissance lyrics set to Britten’s vibrant and accessible modern music. Guest artist Joanne Hansen, a harpist, will accompany the Chorale in this work. The concert also will include classic carols from around the world and a traditional holiday sing-along. The Chorale features sopranos Melissa Donlay, Madeleine Evarts, Mia Mazzariello, Esther Miller and Amy Wechsler; altos Deborah Allen, Zylema Cruz, Catherine Dayton, Ruth Dilley, Jennifer Kapoian and Jane Sausanavage; tenors Dante Colon, Gustavo Sanchez and Christopher Zanardi; and basses Frank Becker and Timothy Blaine.
