Students interested in learning more about Raritan Valley Community College’s Automotive Technology program are invited to attend one of two upcoming Information Sessions at the College’s Branchburg Campus. Information Sessions are planned for Tuesday, May 17, from 4:30-6 p.m., in the Conference Center (Room 102) and Tuesday, June 14, from 4-5:30 p.m., in the Conference Center (Room 101). During the sessions prospective students will have an opportunity to learn about the innovative and successful program, meet with faculty, and explore the exciting career potential in the field of automotive technology. Participants also will learn about the Certificate of Professional Competency that will be awarded to program graduates.
The certificate is specifically designed to help students stand out to potential employers. In designing the Automotive Technology program, RVCC’s education team partnered with local employers and expert workers to detail the knowledge, skills, traits and behaviors essential to becoming a successful Automotive Entry Tech. The program, which has been highly praised by area employers, is now providing the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) student certification testing. This is the nationally recognized automotive technicians’ credentials for assessment of skills. Classes are held weekdays, five-and-a-half hours each day, at the Auto Technology facility on Route 22 in Whitehouse Station.
