Learn more about Raritan Valley Community College’s upcoming Cosmetology programs at an information session. Cosmetology Information Sessions are scheduled for Wednesdays, May 18, June 8 and June 22, all from 5:30-7 p.m. The sessions will be held at RVCC at Bridgewater’s Cosmetology Salon, 14 Vogt Drive (Building B, Room B209-211). The next daytime Cosmetology program will begin August 30 and the application process must be completed by July 1. In addition, learn more about the College’s new Skin Care Specialist program that begins in October. During the information session, prospective students will be able to view live hair demonstrations, meet the program director, participate in a question-and-answer segment, and even apply for the program.
RVCC’s Cosmetology program features an accomplished teaching staff, innovative teaching methods, and opportunities for job shadowing and salon practicum. The program offers proactive job placement for graduates and other components critical to student success. Employment of hairdressers, hairstylists, and cosmetologists was projected to grow 13% from 2012-2022, according to information from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Financial Aid and industry scholarships are available to students who qualify. Students accepted into either program must attend a New Student Orientation scheduled for August 16 (for the Cosmetology course) and September 19 (for the Skin Care Specialist course).
