RVCC to Host Free Financial Education Boot Camp THIS WEEK

Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) will host a free program, “Financial Education Boot Camp 2015: Twenty Terrific Technology Teaching Tools,” Wednesday, July 22, from 9:30 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. Registration begins at 9 a.m. The event, which is geared for those who teach personal finance to youth or adults, will be held in the Conference Center at the College’s Branchburg Campus. Dr. Barbara O’Neill of Rutgers Cooperative Extension will speak about current personal finance topics. The remainder of the workshop will focus on creative ways to teach personal finance using technology tools. Tracy Rimple, MBA, Assistant Professor of Business at RVCC, will share a digital game focusing on students’ personal spending habits and how their daily choices impact financial goals. Participants also will share technology tips, teaching techniques, and resources. Small group activities and discussion will be included. Professional development certificates will be provided for those who attend the entire workshop. Participants may bring their own lunch or purchase it at the RVCC cafeteria.
