Sharon L. Pickell-Eisele, age 53

Sharon L. Pickell-Eisele, age 53 years, of Punta Gorda, FL, died on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Tidewell Hospice, Port Charlotte, FL, surrounded by her loving and devoted family.

Born October 14, 1963 in Flemington, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Nancy Kovi Hann and the late Albert Pickell. She had resided in Hunterdon County, NJ her entire life before moving to Englewood, FL in 1997.

A very proud registered nurse, Sharon’s love of people and her genuine caring for their well-being led her to specialize in hospice care, where she helped many people make a transition in peace as well as take care of those family and friends left to mourn their passing. It was only fitting that as Sharon’s battle against pancreatic cancer was nearing its conclusion, she was brought to the very hospice home where she had taken care of so many throughout the years.

When anyone thinks about Sharon, her thoughtful, compassionate, outgoing and vivacious personality are what most people think about first. An eccentric and free-spirited individual, she worked very hard to support her family and always put others first. She faced her illness with a determination to keep everyone around her happy and upbeat, even as her condition took a negative turn. Sharon believed in always dancing like no one was watching and her family and friends who were with her during the past several months were comforted by seeing her live every single day to the fullest. She did this knowing that her faith would guide her transition and that her family would have her as their guardian angel; so although not able to be with them in the physical sense, she made them all realize that she will always be with them.

She was very successful in her studies as a nurse and was President of Phi Theta Kappa from 2005-2007 and Vice-President of Psi Beta in 2008. Among some of her favorite things to do were to follow NASCAR with her sister, Debra, go camping with her brother, Lawrence, go to the gun range with her son, Thomas and go shopping and do extreme couponing with her daughter, Alyssa. She loved to experience all that life had to offer and walking the beach collecting shells was a hobby that helped her to see the magic and wonder of life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Duckworth and her husband, Richard Eisele.

Surviving are her daughter and her fiancé, Alyssa Eisele and Bradley Clark of Jacksonville, FL; her son and his girlfriend, Thomas Eisele and Caraline Rolfe of Englewood, FL; her sister, Debra Pickell of Aurora, CO; her brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence and Ruth Pickell of Washington, NJ; her three nephews, Andrew, Cody and Lleyton; and many extended family and friends who remain #SharonStrong and will continue to do so as Sharon’s legacy of life and love remain for all to put into practice as they live their own lives.

A celebration of Sharon’s life will take place on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in Wright & Ford Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38 State Highway 31, Flemington, NJ. Burial will follow in the family plot at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Capner Street, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
