Sharon Lee Zydiak
Sharon Lee Zydiak, age 69, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ. One of three daughters of Roy and Barbara Cleveland, Sharon was born on May 20, 1947.
Sharon was the Great Great Grand-niece of President Grover Cleveland who was the 22nd and 24th President of the United States. She was also the Great Great Great Granddaughter of Moses Cleveland who founded Cleveland, Ohio.
Sharon attended Edison High School, graduating in 1965.
During her post-high school years, Sharon was a secretary for Johnson and Johnson in New Brunswick, NJ and worked for McGraw-Hill Publishing in New York City.
Catching the eye of her then-future husband, Wayne Zydiak, Sharon and Wayne married in 1985. While working for Olympia Office Machines in Somerville, NJ, Sharon attended college via night classes, graduating from Rutgers University with a BA in Business Administration in 1990. As a professional and gifted seamstress Sharon was the owner-operator of Dial-a-Style on Main Street in High Bridge, producing many beautiful outfits for her clients and was a member of PACC (The Professional Association of Custom Clothiers) where she was one of the founding members of their NJ Chapter. Notably, Sharon was an active charitable contributor to Cinderella’s Closet, providing alterations to donated prom gowns for many high school-age girls who were in need. Sharon also worked for Fabricland in North Plainfield, NJ from which she retired in 2015.
In her leisure time Sharon enjoyed many athletic pursuits including winter skiing, skydiving and was a certified scuba diver. Sharon, along with her husband Wayne, were also active members of Central Jersey Corvette Club enjoying many group excursions in their iconic vehicles.
Sharon is survived by the two most important men in her life – her beloved husband Wayne Zydiak of High Bridge, NJ, and son and only child Curtis Meaney and his wife Kim of Hampton, NJ. She is also survived by her sisters; Donna Sanderson and her husband Marc of Lake Shawnee,NJ and Susan Thomas of Indio,CA. Her step-children: Ryan D. Zydiak of Mexico and Tonya Brie Pulec of Lincoln, Nebraska. Her 3 step-grandchildren; Morgan Pulec, David Pulec and Daniella Zydiak. Brother-in-laws; Marc and his wife Maggie Zydiak of Egg Harbor Township, NJ and Timothy Zydiak of Hillsborough, NJ. Sister-in-law Daria and her husband Kirk Hoster of Shawnee, Oklahoma. She is also survived by 3 nieces and 2 nephews.
Always a kind, talented and hard-working woman and a selfless, generous and loving mother, Sharon will be sorely missed and long-remembered.
Gathering of friends will take place on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 11am to 12pm. A memorial service will immediately follow at 12pm. All at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Interment will be private.
