FRENCHTOWN, NJ – Shirley Ann Murphy, 63, of Frenchtown, NJ, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township, NJ.

Born May 22, 1953, Shirley was originally from Lancaster, PA. She lived in Flemington, NJ before moving to Frenchtown in 1981. Shirley graduated from Hunterdon Central Regional High School. She was an inn keeper for the Bridgeton House in Upper Black Eddy, PA. Shirley was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed boating, camping, cooking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Daughter of the late James and Emma Hall, Shirley is survived by her beloved husband of 32 years, Steven E. Murphy, her three sons Christopher Bird and his wife Lorie of North Carolina, Steven Murphy, Jr. and his wife Nikki of Doylestown, PA, and Matthew Murphy of Frenchtown, NJ, her two daughters Stephanie Haver and her husband Robert of Frenchtown, NJ, and Katelyn Murphy of Rosemont, NJ, her sister Dee Wagner of Lancaster, PA, and her 11 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 5 PM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday evening from 3-5 PM at the funeral home.
