SHOPRITE SHOPLIFTER – with five warrants

@ approximately 1:54 PM – Police arrested Shikera Sanders, age 43 of Phillipsburg, NJ and charged her with shoplifting from Shop-Rite on Rt. 202/31. Police were initially called to the store by an employee who observed Sanders attempt to leave the store with two containers of prepared food without paying for them. Sanders was initially confronted by store employees, but then fled the store on foot.
She was located by police and taken into custody. Sanders was ultimately charged with shoplifting prepared foods and health and beauty aids with a retail value of less than $200.00. During processing, Sanders was found to have five active traffic warrants for her arrest issued out of various municipal courts in Hunterdon and Warren Counties. After processing at police headquarters, Sanders was turned over to the Hunterdon County Sheriff’s Department to be lodged in the Somerset County Jail on the warrants.
