Somerset Patriots Salvage Series With 7-1 Win BACK HOME TONIGHT AT TD BANK BALLPARK AGAINST BRIDGEPORT

 

The Somerset Patriots (7-5) salvaged the final game of the three game midweek series by winning 7-1 against the Sugar Land Skeeters (8-6) Thursday evening from Constellation Field.

 

In the top of the first inning designated hitter Thomas Neal ripped a RBI single to give Somerset an early 1-0 advantage.

 

Left fielder Dustin Martin tallied the equalizer for Sugar Land in the bottom of the third inning as he hit a RBI sacrifice fly.

Somerset exploded for five runs in the top of the fifth inning to grab a 6-1 lead. First baseman David Vidal, catcher Adam Donachie and right fielder Chris Marrero each recorded RBI singles while shortstop Robert Andino crushed a two run home run (1).

 

Neal pounded a RBI single in the top of the seventh inning to up Somerset’s lead to 7-1.

 

Mickey Storey (2-0) earned the win tossing five innings of four hit, one run baseball. Dan Meadows (0-3) sustained the loss lasting 4.2 innings while surrendering six runs.
