It is with a deep sense of loss that the Somerset Patriots mourn the passing of Albert DiFiore , a long-time advisor and friend of the team. The Somerset Patriots have announced that the team will dedicate the 2015 season in his honor.
Albert DiFiore, 69, passed away Friday morning, February 6, 2015 in Bridgewater surrounded by his loving family. He was a wonderful husband of 41 years to Angela and an example to their three children- Philip, Thomas, Albert and two grandchildren- Priya and Nola.
Albert DiFiore and the Fullerton Auto Group was one of the Somerset Patriots first marketing partners and he served on the team’s National Advisory Board since its inception.
“On top of the many things that he accomplished, Albert was very special to my wife Suzanne and I and our children Jonathan and Josh. He worked hard his whole life to become the exceptional man that we all knew. Albert had a wonderful and inviting personality that just made you love being around him. He was an important part of our lives and we will miss him dearly. We send Angela and the DiFiore family our love and support during this difficult time,” said Steve Kalafer, Chairman of the Somerset Patriots Baseball Club.
“Albert was a genuine and caring person that earned the attention of any room he entered. He used his charm, his sense of humor, and compassion to make life-long friends and business associates. I always enjoyed my relationship with Albert and being able to work with him for over 15 years,” added Patrick McVerry, President/General Manager of the Somerset Patriots Baseball Club.
“Albert was with us since day one. He understood what the Somerset Patriots are all about and what we mean to the community. Albert always made it a point to be involved with our team to help provide the very best for the residents of Central New Jersey. He was a great friend to us and we’ll miss him. Albert made me laugh, and everybody knows I love to laugh! Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire DiFiore family at this time,” said Sparky Lyle, Manager Emeritus of the Somerset Patriots Baseball Club.
