SPEEDING WITH OPEN CONTAINER 1:25 a.m. – DUI

On Saturday, June 6, at approximately 1:25 am, Patrolman Jeffery Glennon stopped a 2011 Volkswagon Jetta operated by Gwendolyn Salas, age 24, of Piscataway, on Route 31 South near Georges Place for speeding. Upon approaching the vehicle, Ptl. Glennon detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage upon Ms. Salas’ breath and soon determined that she was intoxicated. Ptl. Glennon also observed opened containers of alcoholic beverages inside of the vehicle. Ptl. Glennon arrested Ms. Salas and transported her to police headquarters where she provided samples of her breath for chemical testing to determine the content of alcohol in her blood. Ptl. Glennon issued Ms. Salas motor vehicle summonses for Driving While Intoxicated, Consumption of an Alcoholic Beverage While Driving A Motor Vehicle, and Speeding. She was released to the custody of a responsible adult and her vehicle was towed and impounded.
