Stanley J. Gliniewicz (a.k.a. Butch) 68, of Whitehouse Station, NJ passed away peacefully on June 1, 2015 with his wife and family members at his side. He is survived by his wife Joyce of 43 years; brothers-in-law Edward Nevar (June) and Mark Nevar (Lorraine), sister-in-law Janice Kisty, and many nieces and nephews. Stan was predeceased by his parents (Stanley and Anna) and sister (Dolores). Originally from Linden, NJ he spent most of his life in Mountainside, NJ prior to moving to Whitehouse Station in 2001.
Stan graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University and Union County Tech with degrees in Management and Computer Science. He retired from Exxon and TOSCO 18 years ago, from 30 years of computer operating systems and applications careers. He is very thankful for all the advice and encouragement of friends and neighbors who promoted traveling “while you can”. To that end he travelled extensively having set foot on all but one continent.
His passion was cars – built and drag raced a 1931 Ford coupe, owned a 1972 Cutlass Supreme convertible for 40 years, T-Bird, El Dorado, BMW and Corvette were his other “hot cars”. He was a member of the Bloody Buccaneers Club as a child, an avid racer, member of Oldsmobile Rally 350 Club, Readington Garden Club, a Wine Maker, and he could fix practically anything. He was always there when family, neighbors or friends needed help. He was a tolerant, affectionate person who gave generously to many charities over his lifetime, and he will be dearly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to join together at the Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Sunday, June 7, 2015 beginning at 1:00 pm.
