This is a 115 acre sanctuary in Tewksbury Township and adjacent to Tewksbury’s 800 acre Hell
Mountain Preserve. Belonging to the New Jersey Conservation Foundation, it features
magnificent and sweeping views of preserved farmland and distant hills, including our own
Cushetunk Mountain. Headwater springs within the woods and fields provide water to the
pristine trout producing Rockaway Creek which runs along the Preserve and through
Readington. Explore the Preserve’s forests and fields and watch for Cooper’s and Red Tail
Hawks, other winter birds, bobcat, and fox. We will walk for about two hours on level and hilly
terrain.
