TEEN HITS DUMP TRUCK AND THEN ANOTHER CAR

@ approximately 3:14 PM – Police were dispatched to Minneakoning Road, at the intersection with River Road, for a reported motor vehicle crash involving a dump truck and a passenger vehicle. Upon arrival, investigation on scene revealed the following: Marc S. Fischer, age 53 of Fairless Hills, PA was driving south on River Road in a 2003 Volvo dump truck.
A seventeen year-old female from Whitehouse Station, NJ was at the stop sign at the intersection of Minneakoning and River Roads in a 2004 Nissan Xterra. Catherine H. Monson, age 65 of Raritan Township was stopped in traffic on River Road facing north, in a 2008 Honda CRV, waiting to make a left turn onto Minneakoning Road. The Xterra turned left onto River Road into the path of the oncoming dump truck. The dump truck struck the Xterra, pushing it into the CRV.
The driver of the Xterra, Monson and a front seat passenger in Monson’s vehicle were all transported to Hunterdon Medical Center by the Flemington-Raritan First Aid and Rescue Squad for non-life threatening injuries. All three vehicles were towed. The driver of the Xterra was issued a motor vehicle summons for careless driving. In addition to the rescue squad, paramedics from Hunterdon Medical Center, personnel from the Hunterdon County Office of Emergency Management and the Raritan Township Fire Company also responded.
