The Tewksbury Historical Society will sponsor a Tavern Tour of the Tewksbury Inn on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 12 Noon. Tewksbury Township Historian Shaun C. Van Doren will give an informative talk and slide show on this history of Smithfield, New Germantown and Oldwick and the integral part the Tewksbury Inn has played in the history of the village as it transformed over the last 250 years. The Tavern Tour is a follow-up to the wildly successful Tavern Tours that the Hunterdon County 300th anniversary committee sponsored across Hunterdon in 2014; this event back in November at the Tewksbury Inn was sold out.
The cost per person is $ 45 and includes a 3 course luncheon (salad, main course and dessert) and includes tip and tax. Lunch will be served in the upstairs dining room with the lecture to follow lunch. Seating is limited and available to only the first 35 reservations. All reservations must be made by February 20th. The Tewksbury Historical Society is a New Jersey not-for-profit corporation and was organized for the purpose of furthering research into and the preservation and dissemination of the history of the Township of Tewksbury. Membership in the Society costs $ 15 for individuals and $ 25 for families.
