The Tewksbury Township Police Department and Tewksbury Township Committee are sponsoring National Night Out for all Tewksbury residents on FRIDAY, AUGUST 4 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Christie Hoffman Farm 108 Fairmount Road West in the Fairmount section of Tewksbury.  The event will be held rain or shine.  All residents are invited to attend and there will be lots of activities for children and adults alike.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

Tewksbury is recognizing National Night out on the first Friday of August rather than the first Tuesday so as to draw more families to attend this important community event.  There will be free hot dogs, soda, and water.  All five fire departments serving Tewksbury – Oldwick Fire Company, Fairmount Fire Company, Pottersville Volunteer Fire Department, Califon Fire Company and Lebanon Fire Department as well the Tewksbury First Aid & Rescue Squad and Whitehouse Rescue Squad will be in attendance.  The Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s K-9 unit and the New Jersey State Police Northstar helicopter will also be present for all to see demonstrations.  At dusk the Lego Batman Movie, sponsored by the Tewksbury Parks Committee, will be shown.

Anyone wishing to make a monetary contribution toward the event to help defray expenses can mail a check payable to the Tewksbury Township Police Department Attn. Officer Tim Hanft 165 Old Turnpike Road Califon, NJ 07830.  For further information log on to www.tewksburytwp.net
