THE HUNTERDON COUNTY NEWS IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE WE WILL NOW BE COVERING THE NY JETS

The New York Jets have graciously given the Hunterdon County News, The Somerset County News and The Morris County News access to cover their professional football team.

Starting this afternoon at 2 p.m. we will be on hand as the team breaks camp in Florham Park under new coach Todd Bowles. The new coach was  a  Super Bowl winning safety for the Washington Redskins when they thrashed Denver 42 – 10 in 1987.  Bowles, 51, is a New Jersey native, born in Elizabeth.  He has been a defensive coordinator for both the Philadelphia Eagles and last year’s Arizona Cardinals whose defense ranked 5th in points allowed.

The Jets also have a new General Manager, Mike Maccagnan, who has already put a fine stamp on the team by bringing back corners Revis and Cromartie and by somehow stealing Leonard Williams, possible the best player in this spring’s draft. Big Mac seems to be a man on the move and the future for the Jets is looking up.

We will be doing pictorials from camp and assorted featured articles and we thanks the Jets for giving us this opportunity.
