@ approximately 3:50 PM – Police arrested Riccardo V. Pinard, age 41 of Flemington and charged him with shoplifting from Walmart on Rt. 31. Police were called to the store by a loss prevention employee who observed Pinard take five (5) shirts off of a rack and duck into an aisle. The employee then observed Pinard take the shirts off of the hangers, put them in a Walmart bag and leave the store without paying for them. The employee attempted to stop Pinard, but he denied taking anything and left the store. The employee was able to provide pictures and video of Pinard in the store. The employee had also provided a license plate number for the vehicle the subject left the store in when the original call was made to 9-1-1. Flemington Borough Police, hearing the initial call, located the vehicle and stopped Pinard on Capner Street. Raritan Township officers responded and recovered the shirts, which were valued at $75.25, that Pinard had no proof of purchasing. Pinard was taken into custody and was released after processing.
