TOWN OF CLINTON NOTICE TO BIDDERS HALSTEAD STREET ROAD RESURFACING AND ACCESSIBLE RAMPS IMPROVEMENTS

Notice is hereby given that the Mayor and Council of the Town of Clinton will receive bids at 11:00 a.m. (prevailing time) on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at the Municipal Building, 43 Leigh Street, Clinton, NJ 08809 for:

HALSTEAD STREET ROAD RESURFACING AND ACCESSIBLE RAMPS IMPROVEMENTS

The work will be funded in part by the New Jersey Department of Transportation’s Transportation Trust Fund.  The major construction items include approximately 8,612 s.y. of HMA Milling, 2” depth; 1,035 tons of HMA 9.5M-64 Surface Course paving; 323 l.f. of concrete curb, 136.3 s.y. of concrete sidewalk and handicapped ramps, replacing 2 existing B inlets with new drainage structures, upgrading curb pieces and/or grates on 5 drainage structures, minor repair of 5 catch basins, 135 s.y. of HMA pavement repair, 1,058 s.f. of new crosswalk markings, 853 l.f. of yellow and white pavement striping and other incidental work appurtenant thereto.

Specifications and forms of bids for the proposed work, prepared by Robert J. Clerico, P.E., Town Engineer, of the firm of Van Cleef Engineering Associates, have been filed in the office of said Engineer at 1128 Route 31, Lebanon, New Jersey 08833 (908) 735-9500, and may be inspected by prospective bidders during business hours. Bidders will be furnished with a copy of the Drawings and Specifications by the Town Engineer upon proper one-day advance notice.  Payment of cost of preparation in the amount of $75.00 (plus postage, if mailed), non-refundable, is required at the time of purchase.

Bids must be made on standard proposal forms in the manner designated therein, and required by the specifications, must be enclosed in sealed envelopes, bearing the name and address of the bidder and the name of the project on the outside, addressed to the Town of Clinton, 43 Leigh Street, P.O. Box 5194, Clinton, NJ 08809, and must be accompanied by a Non-Collusion Affidavit and a Bid Bond or Certified Check for not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, providing said check or bid bond need not be more than $20,000.00 nor shall not be less than $500.00, and be delivered at the place on or before the hour named above.

Bidders are required to conform to all provisions of the Local Public Contracts Law, the Prevailing Wage Act and the requirements of P.L. 1975, c.127.  Bidders are also required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27. The Town of Clinton Mayor and Council reserve the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in any bid inuring to the benefit of the Town of Clinton.
