TRYING TO ESCAPE POLICE MAN FLEES INTO RIVER

The Grand Jurors of the State of New Jersey, for the County of Hunterdon, upon their oaths present that Chad V. Cicalese, on or about July 10, 2015, in the Township of Lebanon, in the County of Hunterdon, and within the jurisdiction of this Court, did attempt to prevent a public servant from lawfully performing an official function by means of physical interference during the investigation and detection of crime, specifically by running away from a law enforcement officer that was in uniform and his canine partner and running into a river as the officer and canine partner tracked the suspect, contrary to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 2C:29-1a, and against the peace of this State, the Government, and dignity of the same.

Cicalese, on or about July 10, 2015, in the Township of Lebanon, in the County of Hunterdon, and within the jurisdiction of this Court, did, by flight, purposely prevent or attempt to prevent Sergeant Carlos Ferreiro, of the Readington Township Police Department, a law enforcement officer, from effecting an arrest, contrary to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 2C: 29-2a(2), and against the peace of this State, the Government and dignity of the same.
