Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III and Flemington Borough Police Chief George Becker announced that a joint investigation by the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns, & Narcotics Task Force and the Flemington Borough Police Department led to the arrest of two individuals on multiple charges.
According to Prosecutor Kearns, “On November 20, 2015, at 4:38AM, Flemington Patrolman Robert Godown observed a vehicle parked on the shoulder of Route 31 North near the Flemington Circle. The passenger, later identified at Bereka Gelin, age 24, of Elizabeth, was urinating on the roadside when approached by Patrolman Godown. The driver was identified as Pascal Exilus, age 31, of Roselle. Indications of illegal drug use were detected and further investigation revealed a loaded handgun and a quantity of cocaine.”
The Prosecutor added, “Both subjects were arrested and charged with possession of a handgun, possession of a weapon by certain persons not to possess a handgun, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and possession of a handgun while in possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute.”
Both subjects were turned over to the Hunterdon County Division of Corrections and lodged on $100,000.00 bail set by the Honorable Angela Borkowski, J.S.C.
