As part of its continued effort to develop international transfer opportunities for students, Raritan Valley Community College has signed an agreement with the University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol. The new agreement will enable students who complete their Associate Degree from RVCC to seamlessly transfer to the University to complete their Baccalaureate Degree.
The partnership with UWE represents RVCC’s fourth transfer agreement with a European university.
“The signing of the agreement with the University of the West of England is an exciting step forward in expanding transfer options for our graduates and creating opportunities for them to experience all of the advantages of studying abroad. This far-reaching agreement enables any RVCC student, regardless of major, who is enrolled in an Associate Degree program and maintains the requisite GPA to continue their studies at a prestigious university in England,” said RVCC President Michael J. McDonough.
“I am passionate about the experience and career development we provide our students. UWE Bristol has impressive student satisfaction rates and one of the best employment outcomes in the UK. We would be delighted to support US students who are interested in coming to the UK as part of this new arrangement,” said Jo Midgley, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Experience).
According to the progression partnership agreement, students may apply to UWE at any point while they pursue their Associate Degree at RVCC, even as early as their first semester at the College. Once they apply to UWE, they may be pre-approved for transfer as long as they complete their Associate Degree at RVCC and maintain the requisite grade point average. Financial aid is available for students who qualify.
UWE Bristol is one of the UK’s most popular Universities with 30,000 students and 3,000 international students from over 140 different countries, providing a truly international environment and welcoming more students from the US year on year. With over 500 majors across a range of faculties, UWE Bristol has an applied approach to teaching, ensuring that students gain a real life learning and working experience to help establish themselves as an attractive employable graduate. For graduate employability, UWE consistently ranks in the top ten in the UK with 96% of our graduates going into employment or higher study 6 months after graduation, and won the Times Higher Education (THE) award for most innovative International Career Development strategy in 2016.
