Vivian Alberta Dickson, 96 died February 12, 2015 at the Clover Rest Home in Knowlton Township, NJ.
She was born in Fleetville, PA on January 9, 1919 the daughter of the late William and Ina Maye (Michaels) Carpenter. Following her graduation from high school Vivian worked in a retail store in Binghamton, NY then returned home during the war years to help her family.
Vivian was married to Delmar W. Dickson August 26, 1945 and the couple moved to New Jersey in 1950 and lived in the Califon area for over fifty years.
Vivian was a member of the Fairmount Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Fairmount United Methodist Church since August 3, 1959 and enjoyed Senior Citizen groups, hiking, embroidering, puzzles and gardening.
Vivian is survived by a daughter Sue D. Morrow of Belvidere, NJ, a son Robert Dickson and his wife Sheila of Palmer Township, PA, a daughter Lyndell Cronce and her husband James of Pittstown, NJ, a sister Lyla Williams of Orlando, FL and a brother William Carpenter of Tunkhannock, PA, nine granddaughters, four grandsons, twelve great-grandaughters, six great-grandsons, many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Vivian was pre-deceased in 1995 by her husband of over fifty years Delmar W. Dickson and a daughter Denise Dickson in 2014.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday May 16, 2015 at 11:00AM in the Sunnyside Cemetery in Tunkhannock, PA under the direction of the Coughlin Funeral Home 15 Academy Street Califon, NJ 07830.
