@ approximately 3:58 PM – Police arrested Andrea N. Stefanis, age 48 of Old Bridge, NJ and charged her with shoplifting from Walmart on Rt.31. On Wednesday, December 13 at approximately 3:50 PM, police were called to the Walmart on Rt.31 for a report of shoplifting suspects that had fled the area in a vehicle. Further investigation identified Stefanis and Nicole D. Sollena, age 42 of Egg Harbor Township, NJ as suspects. The stolen property was identified as baby formula and diapers with a retail value in excess of $500.00, but less than $75,000.00.
During the course of the investigation, warrants were issued for both Stefanis and Sollena, charging each with shoplifting. Both subjects were entered in NCIC as Wanted Persons. On Friday, December 29, Raritan Township Police Detectives were contacted by the Union County Police Department who advised they had Stefanis in custody on the NCIC Wanted Person Entry out of Raritan Township. Union County Police transferred custody of Stefanis to Raritan Township Detectives. Stefanis’ arrest was processed at police headquarters after which she was turned over to the Hunterdon County Sheriff’s Department to be lodged in the Somerset County Jail.
