William A. ‘Bill’ Borman, age 90, of Warren Township, NJ passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on July 1, 1927 in Middletown, NY. He lived in Warren Township, NJ since October of 2016, moving from Lebanon, NJ where he resided with his wife for 46 years. Prior to that they resided in Englewood, NJ where they owned their first home together.
He was the son of the late August and Anna Zink Borman.
Bill was the husband of Filomena ‘Phyllis’ Ferraro Borman. The couple would have celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on January 27th.
Bill graduated from Cliffside Park High School in 1945 and immediately enlisted in the US Navy where he attended boot camp at Sampson, NY. He was a World War II veteran, serving with the Navy from 1945 to 1946 onboard the USS Huntington. Upon his discharge, he attended NYU on the GI bill.
Bill displayed a steadfast work ethic. He was employed with Anheuser-Busch in Newark, NJ for 37 years until his retirement. He loved his work as a Foreman with the company. After his retirement, he worked at All Season’s Flowers & Gifts in Lebanon, NJ where he delivered flowers to many families in the area of his home town.
Memberships include the Unity Spiritual Center in Asbury, NJ and also life member of the VFW Post 6059 in West Portal, NJ.
Bill was a very devoted person to anything he did in life. He will always be remembered for being a very kind person who never had a bad thing to say about anyone. He was always ‘lots of fun’, which was in his Senior yearbook, and he lived up to that saying for the entirety of his life. He was loved by all.
Bill and Phyllis enjoyed many years throughout their marriage traveling in their RV all over the United States and also one of their favorite spots – Prince Edward Island. They also have many wonderful memories traveling for 28 years in their RV to Juno Beach, FL.
Bill also had many hobbies including gardening and building many projects. He was a do-it-yourself guy who enjoyed carpentry. He loved the game of football and was a devoted fan of the New York Giants.
Survivors in addition to his loving wife include one daughter; Ellen L. Yersak of Bordentown, NJ. Three grandsons; Neil C. Yersak and his girlfriend Victoria Lenoci of Philadelphia, PA, Christopher S. Yersak and his wife Barbara Jane of Harleysville, PA and Corey E. Yersak and his wife Erika of Clinton Twp., NJ. One great-grandson; Colton Yersak. He is also survived by his niece; Dorothy Molla Scarr and two nephews; John Molla Jr. and Mark Molla and his wife Lisa and their families, all of KY. Sister-in-law; Lucy Yawger of Fairview, NJ. One niece; Gail DeSilva and her husband George. Great-nephew; Christopher DeSilva. Bill is also survived by his nephew Frank Ferraro of FL.
Predeceased by one son; Steven Borman who passed away at the age of 18 in 1974. Bill is also predeceased by his older sister; Dorothy Molla and her husband John Molla. Predeceased also includes his son-in-law; Dennis B. Yersak who passed away in 2012.
Calling hours will be Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 10am to 12pm followed by Memorial Service at 12pm at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Interment will be private
